Here in the U.S. we’re celebrating our Independence Day.
Though I don’t always agree with the things our government does, and the choices made by those we put there, I still wouldn’t want to live anywhere else.
I love this country, and the great things we do and have done — even when it’s overshadowed by assclowns (Take your pick. There’s plenty to choose from on both sides of the aisle).
Why?
For one, the fact that I can say what I just did — because I have the freedom to do so.
The other main reason is the opportunities available to us. Warren Buffet talks about the “ovarian lottery” of being born in this country, in this time. He got a winning ticket, since his special skills wouldn’t amount to much in many parts of the world.
Neither would mine.
Now, I’m off to eat some ‘que with the family (Eastern NC style — the only kind IMHO).
Well said, Tony! Happy 4th!
The ‘cue sounds yummy! Have a wonderful day and of course, I just love today’s illustration.
Happy 4th from one state down! Great illustrations!!!!
I think the day of the Independence are very happy celebrate.
