As a sort of follow-up to my Meme Debt post, here’s an example that works well, because it fits a specific request of some readers.
I’ve been asked a number of times to post a picture — since everyone is convinced I am just a drawing. Then my friend Dawud Miracle tagged me for David Airey’s Face Behind the Blog meme, so two birds, one stone.
This (and the one with the cartoon above) is me at my desk drawing…
And as a nod to my friend Drew McLellan, here’s a picture of me with my kids at Disney World (the one with the large ears and smiley rodent face is not one of my children)…

Tony – it really is fun to see the faces behind the blog – especially those that we read and converse with frequently. What a cute crew of girls you have, too.
Thanks for the ping mate, and well done for joining the meme! π
So who’s the guy next to you holding the baby?
Seriously, actually, you’re better looking in real life! π
Exellent job on this – and thank you very much for the link. Cheers! π
Tony,
Love seeing that smiling face. That Minnie Mouse sure is a sweet gal, isn’t she?
Your girls are adorable. Isn’t being a dad of girls the best?
Drew
Hey Tony
Great to see you. I love your drawings AND seeing your face is also nice. And your girls…my, they’re lovely. Thanks for sharing them with us.
And Wendy…just jump over her comment about you looking like Mickey Mouse.
Thank you very much for the link love.
The drawing is great. The resemblance is striking π
Hey, help us out here Tony – of the top pair of pictures, which one is the real you and which is the drawing?
Bwa-ha-ha-ha!
It was pretty cool when you told me at SOBCon your little girl recognized you from your drawing. So in reality, there’s no difference!
Char – I agree. This meme is a good one.
Paul & Lisa – Thanks, glad to be a part of it.
Wendy – Ha! Right back at’cha π
Drew – When my youngest saw this picture, she said she wanted to go back to the mouse’s house again. I do too, actually π
Dawud – Thanks. It’s pretty cool to see a different side of everyone.
Dennis – I was going for realism… Good to know I nailed it π
Robert – Sometimes I have trouble telling myself π
Tony – I knew you weren’t just a drawing. I thought you were a drawing AND a voice π
Seriously, these are some great pictures. Cool to see some of your beautiful family. Thanks for sharing!
Great pic, Is that Hawaii?
Not that I notice this type of thing but I agree with Wendy, you are much more handsome in person
Phil – Hmm… a drawing and a voice. I guess you could say the same thing about Minnie and Mickey. Maybe Wendy was on to something π
Priscilla – It’s at Disney World Resort in Orlando. This one is actually at the Animal Kingdom park.
JD – Thanks. That’s always nice to hear, whether it’s true or not π
Hey, nice to see a picture ! Creates a “connection” I guess.
I’ve just posted a few pictures of me on my blog about a week ago, so I won’t do it again. I’ve scared people enough already. π
But really cool to “know who you are” and those girls look really sweet! (And the mouse too!)
Hi Tony,
Thanks very much for joining in the meme and linking back to the original post!
I’ve added you to the list of participants and it was great to see a little insight into your personal life.
It’s also quite a relief that your eyes are the same size after all! π
Yeah, I really enjoy this too. Makes me think that SOBCon08 should include a family day. A cookout where we can all hang out a see even more of the people behind these blogs.
Thanks for sharing your life with us. Now you’re not just a guy hiding from the kids in the home office trying to get some work done.
Of course, seeing you in Chicago already blew that door down.
Wow, that looks just like… ok, maybe not exactly.
Hi there! I posted a meme Face behind the blog to follow your meme.. do check out my blog and comment, thanks
