About This Place
While I’m no longer posting new articles, the existing articles will remain since they have been helpful for so many readers. My final post is available here.
For related stuff, check out my latest project Lateral Action. I can also be found at Teaching Sells, which we will be relauching with more new content in January 2009.
What This Site Is
This is a site for you to find helpful tips and advice on:
- discovering an entrepreneurial life that is meaningful for you
- designing a home-based business that utilizes your unique talents, passions, vision, and genius
- running your venture so it is in line with your values, personality, and view of the world
- sharing your experiences and hearing from other aspiring and veteran entrepreneurs
Can you actually make a good living or even get rich from home? Yes. Especially if you’re doing something you love, that you’re good at, and that provides value. But success is much more than just monetary wealth. Making money is definitely part of it. Money won’t buy happiness, but it can provide freedom. The key to success is a balanced life, that makes you excited to get out of bed in the morning, and that is full of potential and possibility. It is my hope that I can provide you with some tools to help you achieve that success from your own nest.
About Me
My name is Tony D. Clark and I’ve had the privilege to be able to work from home for most of my working life - close to 17 years. I’ve been a work-from-home parent for 10 of those years. Throughout this time, I’ve given advice, shared resources, and helped others who were interested in working from home. I’m passionate about being free to live my life on my own terms, and doing fun and meaningful work, while having a rich and close-knit family life. That passion comes out when talking about working from home, and I love seeing and helping others make the leap.
I’m…
- an entrepreneur, artist, writer, and designer.
- co-founder of Lateral Action and Teaching Sells.
- the cartoonist for Implementing Scrum - a site designed to help software teams with the methodology.
Realizing I worked much better with clients than with bosses, I began freelancing in my early twenties. That led to a jewelry design business, then to a Web design company, then to independent software development, instructional design, and then to building and running a small software company. I now start, build, and partner with others to produce online media properties.
About the Cartoons
My cartoons and humor are a part of who I am, so it just seems natural to use them to illustrate my work.
The cartoons are drawn and inked on paper, then scanned in for coloring. I use Adobe Fireworks to color and produce the images.
You can see some of my paintings in my Flickr account and animated videos over at Lateral Action.
Feel free to use the cartoons as long as you adhere to this Creative Commons License, and let me know you’re doing it.
